Can we use the same knapsack for herbicides and fertilizer spray?
Hurudza Eco-Liquid Fertilizer
As a farmer who is now using Hurudza Eco-Liquid Fertilizer, we discourage the use of the same knapsack for herbicides and fertilizer spray. This is because, some of the herbicide chemical residues may remain in the knapsack which then adversely affects your crop when you use it next to spray the fertilizer. However if your knapsack was previously used to spray a herbicide, you have to thoroughly clean it inside. You also have to fill-up the knapsack with plain water then pump the water out without a spray nozzle so as to flash out the herbicide chemical residues that could be within the knapsack system.
It is important to remember that some crops are particularly sensitive to the residual effect of Atrazine. On certain soils such as black turf, the residual effect of Atrazine can still damage crops 2 seasons later. Where weaker crop like sunflower is grown in rotation with maize, weed killers with a short residual action must be used on maize.
